Most of an interior job is protection

An interior repaint happens around your life. Furniture, floors, fixtures and hardware all have to be protected before a brush comes out, and the difference between a tidy job and a nightmare is almost entirely in that first day.

We mask, cover and tape before anything else. Nail holes, dents and drywall damage get patched and sanded flush. Bare patches are primed so they do not flash through the finish coat.

Where interior paint usually fails

The same house painted the same way fails differently depending on where in the county it sits.

Flashing patches

Filler that was never primed drinks the paint differently and shows as dull rings once the light hits it. Priming every patch is not optional.

Wavy cut lines

Tape alone does not give a straight line on textured walls. Hand cutting is slower and it is why the ceiling line looks right up close.

Wrong sheen

Flat hides wall texture but will not wash. Kitchens, baths and hallways need something that survives a sponge. We spec sheen room by room.

Questions about exterior painting

Do I need to move my furniture?

No. We move it to the centre of the room and cover it. Anything fragile or valuable we would rather you move yourself.

How long will my house smell of paint?

We use low VOC product, so most rooms are comfortable the same evening with windows open.

Can you paint while we are living here?

Yes, that is most jobs. We work room by room so you always have somewhere to be.

Do you repair drywall damage?

Patching, nail holes, dents and small holes are included. Larger structural drywall work gets quoted separately.

What sheen should I use?

Flat or matte for ceilings and low traffic rooms, eggshell or satin for living areas, satin or semi gloss for kitchens, baths and trim.
